My name is Adam Couturier. I am a graduate student at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary working on a dual Masters track in Old Testament Studies and Religion. My interests of study revolves around Biblical Wisdom Literature (Proverbs in particular), ritual in the 1st Testament, social structures in ancient Israel, and Paul’s epistle to the Galatians. Other interests include consuming and roasting coffee (in various forms), collecting and reading books, and of course hanging out with my wonderful wife.
Welcome to my small corner of the web. Feel free to look around and comment when the mood strikes you.

Likewise. It is good to see a fellow Biblioblogger that has midnight oil running through their veins. Remember, if ever asked what God thinks on the subject of the brown grains, direct them to the book of “Hebrews” for Biblical justification.
Keep posting. I really enjoy reading your blog.
Many blessings,

We should connect… I just signed on to study at Gordon Conwell for the fall semester.
My pursuits are in Rabbinic Judaism and NT.

Sounds great. I don’t live anywhere near campus, but I would love to connect at some point. When are you moving to Mass?

We are moving some time in late August hopefully. We are going to have to live off of campus also. I’ll post my school e-mail when I get there.
We’ll keep in touch.

Whenever I visit your blog, Adam, I think of a short story by Flannery O’Conner, “Parker’s Back.” It’s about Jesus and tattoos.

I am unfamiliar with the story, but the name comes from one of my favorite Jazz tunes. Charlie Parker (in my opinion the greatest sax player to have ever lived) wrote a song called Parker’s Mood. It is my small tribute to the architect of the Bop movement. So, is the short story any good?

Great! You’re into Jazz too. I had a hunch from your blog name. I’m a huge jazz fan myself. We should definitely meet up once I’m in Beantown to discuss the three: Hebrew Bible, Coffee, and Jazz. My interests are still rather broad concerning HB; however the more I’m getting into it, the more I feel myself drawn toward Second Temple lit. as well as the sapiential lit. To future talks!
